Pod was created in 2002. It has a 15 ft diameter base and is 30 ft high. It is made of Stainless steel, bronze, titanium, lead, plastic, and rubber. Fabrication: Pete Beeman and David Bermudez Engineering: Pete Beeman and Peterson Structural Engineers. ******Pod is a public art project for Portland's Downtown Streetcar, installed at 10th and Burnside in downtown Portland, Oregon. The piece is kinetic and interactive. When the counterweight at the bottom is pushed, the central vertical section swings back and forth. The upper and lower sections swing and flex in different rhythms, affecting each other, eventually returning to rest in the vertical position.
